Apark Plasma Sintering System (ITT/999)
Spark Plasma Sintering System. Note that the SPS will be used mainly for relatively small samples with diameter of 10-13 mm. The typical sintering temperature range is 500-1800 oC for the 10-13 mm samples.
One spark plasma sintering system:
1) Maximum working temperature: ≥2,200 C (essential);
2) Maximum sample diameter: ≥60 mm (essential);
3) Minimum sample diameter: ≤10 mm (essential).

4) Maximum pressing force: ≥60 kN (essential);
5) Minimum pressing force: ≤1 kN (essential);
6) Piston stroke: ≥100 mm (essential);
7) Displacement transducer accuracy: at most 3 μm (highly desirable);
8) Maximum continuous DC current: ≥3,000 A (essential);
9) DC Pulse Generator: ON/OFF control system (essential);
10) Maximum heating rate: ≥500 C/min (highly desirable);
11) Minimum heating rate: ≤ 5 C/min (highly desirable);
12) Sintering atmosphere:
— Inert gas Ar and He, vacuum (25 – 2 200 oC) (essential),
— 5% H2/95% Ar (25 – 1 500 oC) (highly desirable),
— 1% O2/99% Ar (25 – 1 200 oC) (desirable).
13) Vacuum:
— 5 Pa (essential),
— 5 ×10-2 Pa (highly desirable).
14) Temperature measurement: pyrometer and thermocouples are included (essential);
15) Cooling: a suitable chiller unit is included (highly desirable).
