        Queen’s is a city based campus comprised of almost 300 buildings. The current security system is comprised of a wide range of CCTV (approx. 700) cameras of a variety of types, both analogue and digital, it also includes a range of:

        — intruder alarms,

        — panic alarms,

        — fire alarms,

        — building management (TREND system) alarms and the access control system (Hirsch, Identive).

        The alarms are monitored 24/7 from the security control room that is based in the administration building. The security control room is manned 24/7 by 2 operators, who monitor and coordinate the response to all alarm activations. The proposed PSIM system will integrate systems onto a single platform using the Queen’s IT network, allowing the alarms to be monitored and CCTV to be viewed from the security control room.
