        NHSBT Manufacturing and Logistics irradiate blood components to prevent Transfusion-Associated Graft versus Host Disease (TA-GVHD). Irradiation of blood products takes place in 2 types of irradiator: 1 using a source of gamma radiation and 1 that generates X-rays. In support of these services, we need the ability to demonstrate that they have been irradiated. As such 2 different types of labels are purchased, 1 for gamma irradiators and 1 for x-ray. The requirement for this procurement is for the supply of Irradiation Indicator Labels. This Framework Agreement is for a period of 4 years. The following contracting authorities will be able to purchase against the Framework Agreement: any NHS Authority or Trust, all UK Forum members (Welsh Blood Service, Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Service, Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service) and Irish Blood Transfusion Service.
